1-60 powerleveling guide

By admin On October 25, 2008 No Comments

Level 1-12:
- Newbie Zone :: You may have to leave at level 11.

Level 12-20:
- Westfall [Sentinel Hill, Westfall Lighthouse]
- Loch Modan [Thelsamar, Farstrider's Lodge, Stonewrought Dam]
- Darkshore [Auberdine]
- Elite Area: Mo’grosh mound (Loch Modan)
- Instance: Deadmines

Complete the easiest quests in the first area that you go to (Night Elves should visit Darkshore first, Dwarves/Gnomes should visit Loch Modan first, Humans should visit Westfall first.) Move onto the next zone, and do the same, but this time you can complete more of the zone. Leave the most difficult, unless you can get a group for them – don’t waste too much time on it, though. Move onto the last zone and complete all, or nearly all of the quests available in that zone. By this time, you should be about level 17-18. Go back to the first zone, and complete the rest of the quests there.

Typically, my ‘first zone’ is Westfall, in which case you can go back when you are done with both Loch Modan and Darkshore, and finish the Van Cleef line of quests and be at a good level to run the instance.

Level 20-22:
- Redridge Mountains [Lakeshire, Tower of Azora in Elwynn]

Again, do the easy quests in Redridge, which should take you up to level 21 or 22. Skip the more difficult quests unless you have a group for them. I’d skip the entire Stonewatch Keep area of quests just simply because that entire area itself is crap.

Level 22-30:
- Redridge Mountains [Lakeshire, Tower of Azora in Elwynn]
- Duskwood [Darkshire, Sven's Camp, Abercrombie]
- Wetlands [Menethil Harbor, Greenwarden, N. Loch Modan (The Algaz Gauntlet)]
- Ashenvale [Astranaar ?]
- Stonetalon Mountains [?]
- Elite Area: Dun Modr (Wetlands)
- Instance: The Stockades
- Instance: Shadowfang Keep
- Instance: Blackfathom Deeps
- Happy Loot: Naraxis’ Fang (Duskwood)
- Happy Loot: Tiny Crimson Whelpling (Wetlands)
- Grind Area [26]: Dragonmaw Encampment (Wetlands)
- Grind Area [26]: Whelgar’s Excavation Site (Wetlands)
- Grind Area [28]: Rotting Orchard (Duskwood)
- Grind Area [28]: Raven Hill Cemetary (Duskwood)
- Grind Area [29]: Vul’Gol Ogre Mound (Duskwood)

Preparation: Purchase Bronze Tube.

Start at either Duskwood or Wetlands. This is where ‘quest stacking’ can come in really handy if you want to be efficient. There are many, many quests that send you to the same areas, and if you get all of the quests at once, you can knock all of them out without having to run back and forth. Considering Wetlands and Duskwood are fairly bad for having their towns on one side of the map and the quest mobs/areas on the other side, this saves a lot of time. A lot of these are parts of quest chains, so honestly it’s hard to know if you don’t have prior knowledge or do a lot of quest research beforehand – so don’t worry about it too much, but try to be as efficient as you can. Once you finish one of the two new areas, you should be about level 25 and can go finish the harder parts of Redridge, and then finish the last zone.

Note for Stockades : There are 6 quests you can obtain for this instance. Lakeshire, Darkshire, Wetlands, Van Cleef note continuation (Bazil Thredd), and two from Stormwind.

Level 31-37:
- Stranglethorn Vale [Rebel Camp, Nesingwary's Expedition, Booty Bay]
- Hillsbrad Foothills [Southshore]
- Arathi Highlands [Refuge Pointe]
- Desolace [32]
- Thousand Needles [31]
- Instance: Gnomeregan
- Happy Loot: Howling Blade (Skhowl, Alterac Mountains)
- Happy Loot: Toxic Revenger (Gnomeregan)
- Happy Loot: Tiny Emerald Whelpling (Swamp of Sorrows)
- Grind Area [31]: Kurzen Encampment (Stranglethorn Vale)
- Grind Area [33]: Stranglethorn Raptors (Stranglethorn Vale)
- Grind Area [33]: Growless Cave (Alterac Mountains)
- Grind Area [34]: Gallow’s Corner (Crushridge Ogres – Altarac Mountains)
- Grind Area [36]: Venture Co. Base Camp (Lake Nazferiti – Stranglethorn Vale)

Preparation: Purchase all 15 pages of The Green Hills of Stranglethorn, 4 Bloodstone Ore.

Start at Stranglethorn Vale. Quest stacking here is also godly, since you don’t want to have to run all the way to the northern end of the zone, do one or two quests and turn them back in at Booty Bay. Rebel Camp’s quests are largely independent of the rest, though, so you can do those first. Then, head to Booty Bay, where you can pick up two main quests for the northern area: Investigate the Camp and the start of the Excelsior chain, both of which takes you to Nesingwary’s Expedition, where you obtain all of the nice happy quests there.

Hillsbrad is only good starting at about level 33, at which point you can actually *do* all of the quests that you could obtain at level 30… Arathi only has one or two quests that you can actually do right now, but it’s listed anyways.

Kurzen Cave has been fixed, which perhaps means that Jungle Fighters and Headshrinkers have as well, so someone test that out please.

Level 37-43:
- Stranglethorn Vale
- Arathi Mountains [Refuge Pointe, Faldir's Cove]
- Badlands [Various camps around the zone]
- Desolace [37]
- Elite Area: Stromgarde
- Elite Area: Mosh’ogg Mound
- Instance: Scarlet Monastery
- Instance: Uldaman
- Instance: Razorfen Downs
- Happy Loot: Tiny Black Whelpling (Badlands)
- Grind Area [37]: Lashtail Raptors (Stranglethorn Vale)
- Grind Area [37]: Water Elementals (Stranglethorn Vale)
- Grind Area [39]: The spider cave north of Brackenwall (Swamp of Sorrows)
- Grind Area [39]: Rock Elementals (Badlands)
- Grind Area [39]: Elder Crag Coyotes (Badlands)
- Grind Area [41]: Scalding Whelps (Badlands)
- Grind Area [41]: Agmond’s End (Badlands)
- Grind Area [41]: Ziata’jai Ruins (Venture Co. Stuff, Stranglethorn Vale)
- Grind Area [43]: Naga Explorers (Stranglethorn Vale)

Preparation: Purchase 9 Blue Pearls, 1 Frost Oil, 1 Gyrochronatom, 4 Buzzard Wings, 1 Elixir of Water Breathing.

37 is where you obtain your next batch of quests from Stranglethorn Vale. Arathi Highlands has fairly decent quests in Faldir’s Cove, or if you’re feeling group-friendly, knock out the ones in Stromgarde. Badlands has a lot of nice quests, but you have to actually find them. This is where supplementing experience by grinding becomes more efficient at times, and at 42-43 you should be closing the last of your Stranglethorn quests, and be finished with Badlands and Arathi both, as well.

Scarlet Monastery. Black Menace or Sword of Serenity. Nothing more needs to be said – except where to obtain the quest: Desolace.

Level 43-46:
- Feralas [Feathermoon Stronghold]
- Tanaris [Gadgetzan, Steamwheedle Port]
- Instance: Zul’Farrak
- Grind Area [43]: Wastewander Bandits (Tanaris)
- Grind Area [44]: Isle of Dread (Feralas – Inside Cave; South of Feathermoon Stronghold)
- Grind Area [45]: Feral Scar Vale (Feralas)
- Happy Loot: 14slot bag! Cortello’s Riddle quest, starts in one of the ships in Stranglethorn Vale for the end of the Bloodsail Buccaneers line of quests.

Fairly self explanatory, I guess. Not much going on here, really.

Level 46-50:
- Tanaris [Gadgetzan, Steamwheedle Port]
- The Hinterlands [Aerie Peak]
- Instance: Zul’Farrak
- Instance: Maraudon [49]
- Instance: Temple of Atal’Hakkar [50]
- Grind Area [47]: Undead in Western Ashzara (Azshara)
- Grind Area [47]: Dunemaul Compound (Tanaris)
- Grind Area [47]: Elementals/Golems around The Cauldron + N of it (Searing Gorge) – Elemental Leatherworking Supplies

At this point, you more than likely have a bunch of quests saved up for The Hinterlands – including but not limited to, the quest to gather Wildkin Feathers (from Rutheran Village), the quest to obtain a snapshot of Gammerita, the quest to obtain Violet Trajan, the last part of Cortello’s Riddle, etc. Feel free to knock them all out at once.

Level 50-55:
- Searing Gorge [Kalaran Windblade]
- Blasted Lands
- Un’Goro Crater [Marshal's Refuge]
- Felwood [Emerald Sanctuary]
- Burning Steppes [Morgan's Vigil]
- Instance: Temple of Atal’Hakkar
- Grind Area [50]: Deadwood Village (Felwood)
- Grind Area [51]: Ruins of Eldarath (Azshara)
- Grind Area [52]: Dreadmaul Rock (Firegut Ogres – Burning Steppes)
- Grind Area [52]: Legash Encampment, Thalassian Base Camp, Ursolan (Azshara)
- Grind Area [52]: Jaedenar (Felwood)
- Grind Area [52]: Sorrow Hill (Western Plaguelands)
- Grind Area [53]: Ironwood Trees in northern Felwood
- Grind Area [54]: Temple of Arkkoran (Azshara)
- Grind Area [55]: Jadefire Run, Felpaw Village (Felwood)

The quests in Blasted Lands all stack on top of each other. Five in total, one for each stat; they give 4700 experience per turn-in, along with always the chance of obtaining a Draenethyst Sphere for Kumi’sha the Collector with every mob you kill. Un’Goro Crater has the biggest collection of quests out of all of these zones.

Level 55-60:
- Winterspring [Everlook, Starfall Village]
- Western Plaguelands [Chillwind Point]
- Eastern Plaguelands
- Instance: Blackrock Depths
- Instance: Blackrock Spire [60]
- Instance: Stratholme [60]
- Instance: Scholomance [60]
- Grind Area [55]: Felstone Field, Dalson’s Tears, The Writhing Haunt, Gahrron’s Withering (Western Plaguelands)
- Grind Area [56]: Northridge Lumber Camp (Western Plaguelands)
- Grind Area [56]: Corin’s Crossing (Eastern Plaguelands)
- Grind Area [56]: The Pillar of Ash (Burning Steppes)
- Grind Area [56]: Winterfall Village (Winterspring)
- Grind Area [57]: Blackrock Stronghold (Burning Steppes) [NOTE]
- Grind Area [57]: Ice Thistle Hills (Wintespring) – Rugged Leathers

Notes: Blackrock Stronghold is probably the best place to grind for a rogue; however, you do have to get used to how the roamers work. You’ll probably die a few times along the way while learning them. Also, this might likely be another area where they’re increasing the armor on the mobs, but two of the four kinds of orcs that spawn are casters, anyway. Ice Thistle Hills is not the best place to grind for experience, but it’s probably one of the better places to get a nice quiet grind going and also leave with a few backpacks full of Rugged Leather.

Crafting Cooking Over 225

By admin On October 25, 2008 No Comments

Ok im posting this because i was unable to find the information anywhere on our sight, and yes I did search. If I simply missed it my appologies for the repeat information

Alliance: You talk to Daryl Riknussun in Ironforge near the grif platform at the forge.

Horde: Start with Zamja in Orgrimmar in the third house on the right on the near the Valley of Strength in the Drag

Both send you to Gadgetzan in Tanaris where you speak to Dirge in the Inn, he sends you out to get:

12 giant eggs, 10 zesy clam meat, and 20 alterac swiss.

Giant eggs come from about anything feathered, and over lvl 44 with some rare incidences of mobs lower than that (as in the rocs in Tanaris, and some owlbeasts in Hinterlands.

Clam meat can be looted out of Giant Clams & Battered Chests (fished in Ashenvale, Darkshore, The Barrens, Darkshore, & Westfall) or from hunting.

Alterac Swiss sells for 40 silver per stack of 5 at the cheese shop just inside StormWind gates.

You have to be at least lvl 40 to aquire the quest with over 200 in cooking.

Most of this info was grabbed from the tradeskill forums on the WoW website.

Jewel Crafting Level 2

By admin On October 24, 2008 No Comments

Sorry for waiting so long to post this update. I don’t want to affect my own efforts. As you can see I have been collecting a lot of low level gems. My feeling is that these gems will have the highest markup after the expansion. The rule I set for myself was to not spend over 10s for malachite, tigerseye, and shadowgem. It is realistic that people after the expansion will spend 20s-50s each just to get past the low levels of jewel crafting. It’s funny because the bulk of the gems I bought for less then 3s each. In order to feed my apatite for gems I had to switch gold over to the alliance side. So now the market on my server both side has gone to ****. People are trying to charge 1g for 1 shadowgem. Same with tigerseye, but there is no way in hell anyone will spend that much at this point. As someone else pointed out gold, silver, truesilver bars will be a good thing to have for jewel crafting. I have made my own collection of these bars. But the point id like to make is that ore is 100% drop from veins. Unlike gems being a chance to drop.

Id like to share a story from the past and one from today. Long time ago I was saving gems to make a frostguard. As my gem collection grows the drop rate got worse and worse on gems from rich thorium. It got so bad to the point that I had to buy the rest of the gems I needed. As soon as I made the frost guard the rich thorium veins started to drop again like crazy. A friend of mine around the same time said she has not found a gem in like a week. The difference with her was that she sells all her gems in the auction. It’s my opinion that as long as the gem you mine is not turned into an item. It puts a hold on gems that you can potentially find. Selling gems in the auction is the worse thing you can do. Because someone may hold on to them for a long time making you finding gems imposable. As for the story from today. You can notice I have a lot of high level gems. With arcane crystals being the least amount I have. All my arcane crystals were mined by myself. When I mine rich thorium I only find arcane crystals, no other types drop for me. It must be my collection of other types of gems that stop them from dropping. Of course this is only my opinion on what I have observed.

I hope this has been of some use to some of you. Here are the links to my gem alts. I need 2 of them now.

PvE Warrior Solo Template

By admin On October 23, 2008 No Comments

This paragraph is the exact same text for all my solo and group PvE templates, so after you read this once you can just skip it for other classes. These are my templates for what I consider the best viable templates for PvE purposes ONLY. A solo template is assuming that you never plan on grouping. A group template assumes that you are in a group 100% of the time, such as end game instances. I have also been asked to provide info on what skills should be taken at which levels, this is really difficult as it would depend on exact individual play styles. However, I put a number in parenthesis before each skill, this number is the level that I would take the skill at, of course this is extremely prejudiced because it is based on my own play style. Of course if you think you have a better template please share it with us.

Warrior solo PvE(this is a 2H template do not try this with 1H/Shield)

Solo as a rogue for 200g per hour

By admin On October 22, 2008 No Comments

I have come to understand that this is not common knowledge to all rogues and I have yet to see it on any site upon performing multiple searches.

This can be soloed for about 200G per hour or done with 2 rogues for about 1000G.

I do this solo but in fairness I have exceptional gear. I’m sure it could be done with good blue gear. If you have problems with this, get a partner to help you. Frankly, as much money as this can make you, it wouldn’t be a horrible crime to complely stock up on greater fire protection pots, elixir of mongoose, giant potions, etc. A death will cost you about 6 minutes and time is money.

You will also need improved sap. 100G worth of respeccing is a small price to pay for a weekend of making thousands.

On to the solo strategy:

In Lower Blackrock Spire you want to stealth to the right in the same manner as you would normally clear the dungeon. You’ll come around to the left after dropping off the first ledge and work your way to two doors (one after the other) that are very close to each other and have roaming mobs going through them. After you pass the second door, stop. To your right you should see a ledge. Across from that ledge is another ledge where you will see a bunch of ogres. If you move towards that ledge and look down you will see a platform that you can jump onto. Jump to it. Now move forward and you will see another platform. Jump to it. Lastly you will jump to the ground floor where you will see several tents. When you jump down, fall, don’t jump or it will break your stealth. Watch out for roaming mobs. You don’t want to fall on them.

Continue on until you get to the hill where the spiders are. As soon as you reach this hill you will come to a nook on your right that most groups that do LBRS skip. In that nook you will see three groups of mobs. To the left are 3 mobs, to the right are 3 mobs and in the back right corner are 2 mobs. The two groups of 3 are not linked but all 6 will aggro if you pull one because the two groups are too close together.

Behold my brilliant artwork!: http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h2…rrico/LBRS.jpg

What you want is one of the two mobs in the back. One of these mobs is a Blackrock Pyromancer. He is what you will want to kill, so sap the other guy and go up the little hill behind you. Ranged pull the pyromancer. Just before he gets in range hit evasion and kill him as quickly as possible. He will flee just before he dies, so crippling poison is your friend. You could use kidney shot just before he gets to 20% life but why waste it on a fleeing mob?

As soon as you kill him, loot him and vanish.

Duo Strategy

Kill the group in the back in the same manner but don’t waste your vanish. Two rogues shouls make extremely short work of both mobs. Heal up, wait for your curses and such to fade and get ready for some big packs.

The problem with the next pull is that you have 6 mobs to deal with. If the two ‘inside mobs’ are both Pyromancers, dump this pull and reset. The only way you can continue is to reset, fight 4 elits at the same time or kill a couple, die and come back to an easier pull. In any other case, you want to sap ‘inside mob1′ or inside mob2′. If one of them is a pyromancer, don’t sap it, sap the other one and have your partner sap one of the other mobs in sapped mob’s group. See this diagram: http://s65.photobucket.com/albums/h2…o/th_LBRS2.jpg

Kill the unsapped pyromancer and vanish.

The duo strat is complicated. You will find that there are several configurations to deal with. I prefer to solo but I make a ton of money if I duo all of the mobs.

Your prize is this: http://www.thottbot.com/index.cgi?i=28217

It is one of the best robes that a mage can find if he doesn’t raid and that is more than 99% of the mage population. Even raiding mages have bought these from me as gaining archanist or something similar isn’t necessarily an overnight process for a new raider. The best part of this robe is that it’s bind on pickup. The pattern is bind on use but the robe binds when you make it, so the crafter can only make it for himself.

Yes the downside is that the mage has to be a 300 tailor. I have sold this pattern to 100 people that picked up tailoring just to make this robe. Many dumped tailoring after making it.

These patterns sell for about 200 gold on my server. I’ve found and sold as many as 5 in a day.

Even better is this http://www.thottbot.com/index.cgi?i=16100

They sell for 300-400 gold on my server. They don’t drop nearly as often as the robe pattern does but it’s a nice payday when they do. I also find a ton of blues (shadowcraft, valor, etc). Those always sell pretty nicely.

My worst one hour session was about 70 gold. My best was 1000 gold (3 patterns, 1 fire recipie and 2 blues).

Again, if you’re having trouble with the solo strat, get a partner. Two rogues in green gear can easily handle the solo strat.

Happy hunting!

Herbalism Guide 1-300

By admin On October 17, 2008 No Comments

Herbalism is the art of picking flowers. It is also the art of making cash, which is what we want grin.gif

Herbalism is one of the few professions that will net you money with little effort. All other professions require you spending a lot of materials to level them up, thus you need to do a lot of business to even break even.

It’s highly recommended that you wait until you have a mount before you start leveling herbalism seriously. Up until then just pick whatever flowers you stumble upon. In fact, forget about professions (except skinning) until you hit 55+, since you can’t pick the profitable flowers until then.

The best way to level this profession is by being patient. Get a 5-10 minute route down, ride it, then log for an hour and repeat it.

1-15: Here you will collect Silverleaf and Peacebloom in the newbie zones. Easy.

15-50: Earthroot. Alliance head to Dun Morogh, Horde to Durotar. Maps: http://thottbot.com/?s=earthroot

50-85: Mageroyal. Alliance head to Loch Modan/Westfall, Horde head to Barrens/Silverpine. Maps: http://thottbot.com/?i=658

85-150: Stranglekelp. Here you have two options: Wetlands or STV. Personally I prefer Wetlands. For Wetlands swim up and down the coast a bit out. For STV either swim up the west coast from BB to the Zandalar tribe isle or swim up and down the SE coast. Maps: STV: http://thottbot.com/?m=8889 and Wetlands: http://thottbot.com/?m=9239

150-195: Liferoot. Wetlands is the best option for this part. Ride around the western swamp area; from the coast to the road leading to Dun Modr. Interspersed with the liferoot is also Kingsblood, which sells decently on AH due to it being needed for Thorium rep. Maps: http://thottbot.com/?m=9232

195-235: Wintersbite. The only place for this herb is in Alterac Mountains. When coming from the south (either TM or SS), first ride through the yeti area of the mountains, then ride through the ogre stronghold and finally ride through the ogre part of the mountains. Log and wait 30-60 mins, then repeat in reverse order. This part is pretty quickly done. Maps: http://thottbot.com/?m=19247

235-270: Blindweed. I prefer using Swamp of Sorrows for this part, since you can get a nice pattern going easily. Simply circle the central lake, log 30 mins and repeat. Alternatively ride back and forth through the northern part of the swamp. Maps: http://thottbot.com/?m=21505

270-300: Dreamfoil. This is the reason you level herbalism. Dreamfoil is used extensively in all the top alchemy recipes and sells for a pretty penny. .75-1.5G per flower depending on server. There are three main places for this herb: Azshara, Felwood or Un’goro. Try all three places and find the least camped one. Dreamfoil grows in open spaces, so stay away from rocky areas. However, Mountain Silversage (used in health pots), grows in mountains, so find a few spawn points of this herb and ride past them on your rounds.
Of the three Un’goro seems to be the least camped…but again it varies with server. Personally I use Azshara to pick my Dreamfoil and it works quite well.

Maps:
Azshara: http://thottbot.com/?m=70549
Felwood: http://thottbot.com/?m=47575
Un’goro: http://thottbot.com/?m=36626

Other herbs worth picking:

Icecap: Used in flasks and mana pots. Only grows in Winterspring in open areas. Heavily camped. Maps: http://thottbot.com/?m=28935

Mountain Silversage: Used in Mongoose pots and health pots. Grows in mountaneous regions. Un’goro is the spot for this herb. Alternatively Winterspring if you are after Icecap.Maps: Un’Goro: http://thottbot.com/?m=33245 and WS: http://thottbot.com/?m=28933

Plaguebloom: Used in Mongoose pots and various elixirs. Grows in both plaguelands and Felwood. Maps: EPL: http://thottbot.com/?m=14671 and WPL: http://thottbot.com/?m=26432 and Felwood: http://thottbot.com/?m=1011788

Gromsblood: Used in Flask of the Titans. Grows in Desolace, Felwood and Blasted Lands. Maps: http://thottbot.com/?i=5537

And there you have it. Herbalism is very good money with very little actual work. You only have to ride around When you decide to sell your gatherings, check your AH first and undercut a bit. If the bottom drops out of the market, jsut wait a few days and stockpile in the meanwhile, then sell when prices move back up.

Rogue Talent Build – Max End-game DPS (daggers)

By admin On October 16, 2008 No Comments

Alright, if you’r pretty far into the endgame part of World of Warcraft you’ve probably heard about this build one way or another… Combat Daggers… I’m here to share some further information on the subject.

Everything I write here has been proven with math and calculations, what you see in your raids might be as I write – but it might not because a lot of it depends on other things then only the talent build – the talent build only sets the limits, after that the user, gear, knowledge e.t.c comes into play… but however, this is what math has proven (and in all raids I’ve been to so far), the build capable of producing the highest steady DPS with the current in-game weapons and armor.

Before 1.12 patch ( http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=i0eMoxZGci00yzZV0x ):
– Assasination: -
5/5 – Malice
3/3 – Ruthlessness
2/3 – Improved Slice and Dice
1/1 – Relentless Strikes
5/5 – Lethality
– Combat: -
2/2 – Improved Sinister Strike*
3/3 – Improved Gogue*
2/5 – Deflection*
3/3 – Improved Backstab
5/5 – Precision
5/5 – Dual Wield Specialization
4/5 – Dagger Specialization
1/1 – Blade Flurry
– Subtley: -
5/5 – Master of Deception*
5/5 – Opportunity

With two daggers, this is the build that (theoreticly) has the highest substained dps.
For a pratical example, Perdition’s Blade will atleast equal to Ancient Qiraji Ripper 20/31/0 build.

The talent marked with an * are so called "Fillers", for example you can skip imp gogue and deflection for 5/5 Lightning Reflexes, as long as you do not take talent points from places that’s needed to get the talents not marked with an *

Now, after 1.12, this will change a bit, with new talents – there are basically 2 choices, you either go with the highest possible steady dps with this build:

In the 1.12 patch ( http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=y0eMoxZGci00Ez0bZVb ):
– Assasination: -
5/5 – Malice
3/3 – Ruthlessness (could possibly drop a point from this into 3/3 Improved Slice and Dice)
2/3 – Improved Slice and Dice
1/1 – Relentless Strikes
5/5 – Lethality
– Combat: -
2/2 – Improved Sinister Strike*
3/3 – Improved Gogue*
2/5 – Deflection*
3/3 – Improved Backstab
5/5 – Precision
5/5 – Dual Wield Specialization
5/5 – Dagger Specialization
1/1 – Blade Flurry
2/2 – Weapon Expertise
– Subtley: -
5/5 – Opportunity
2/2 – Sleight of Hand

Or you could go with the build that drops dps a bit but adds Adrenaline Rush wich has a good utility factor, it will enhance your PvP experience and add some viability to adapt to different PvE situations.

In the 1.12 patch ( http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=j0eMoLZGcy00Ez0boV ):
– Assasination: -
5/5 – Malice
3/3 – Ruthlessness (could possibly drop a point from this into 3/3 Improved Slice and Dice)
2/3 – Improved Slice and Dice
1/1 – Relentless Strikes
4/5 – Lethality
– Combat: -
2/2 – Improved Sinister Strike*
3/3 – Improved Gogue*
4/5 – Deflection*
3/3 – Improved Backstab
5/5 – Precision
5/5 – Dual Wield Specialization
5/5 – Dagger Specialization
1/1 – Blade Flurry
2/2 – Weapon Expertise
1/1 – Adrenaline Rush
– Subtley: -
5/5 – Opportunity

Using these builds is pretty simple, with 2/3 improved SnD, a 5 point Slice and Dice will give you enough time to backstab 5 times to get another 5 point slice and dice off, and that’s basically it backstab backstab backstab backstab backstab slice and dice, repeat.

And ofcourse use Blade Flurry every time it’s up (on a single target aswell, it’s the +% attack speed we’re after).
Always keep instant poison on against targets that are not immune… and you’r set.

With adrenaline this changes a bit ofcourse, I’d say get a 5pt rupture running or evisc with it.

For the record I’ve been playing the rogue class for about 2 years now, and I still think it’s the most fun class to play, and this is the best endgame pve build in theory – if you will outdps the others or not depends on your computer, the equipment, that you’r not AFK, and the situation.

First aid guide

By admin On October 13, 2008 No Comments

Ahh, first Aid! One of the most least understood professions in the game….yet one of the most useful! In this guide I’ll be going through the various aspects of first aid, it’s uses and pretty much anything else you could possibly desire.

So enough with the smalltalk, let’s get started:

First Aid Overview
First Aid is a secondary profession which allows you to create ‘bandages’ out of the various pieces of cloth which drop off of humanoids around the world of WoW (you can see the full list from the trainers in the game, just turn of the ‘unavailable’ filter when viewing the training list). First aid differs from eating food primarily because you can apply first aid during combat on yourself or others, and there is no need to sit. You also gain health at a much quicker rate than eating food.

First Aid Ranks

Apprentice (1 – max 75)
The apprentice rank can be trained in any major city. Just speak to a local guard and ask them where you can find the local first aid trainer.

Journeyman (50 – max 150 skill)
Like the apprentice rank, you can train up to the journeyman skill in any city, just speak to a local guard and find out where the local physician is located.

Expert (125 – max 225 skill)
To become an ‘expert’ first aid toon, you’ll need to purchase a book for 60 silver. The individual vendors for alliance/horde are listed below.

Alliance: Deneb Walker, located in the Arathi Highlands….just inside Stormgarde keep.
Here’s a map of Ms. Walker’s location on thottbot.

Horde: Balai Lok’Wein, located in Brackenwall Vil
lage in Dustwallow Marsh.

Artisan (225 – max 300 skill)

Requires Player Level 40
Once you’ve maxed out your Expert skill level in first aid, you come to one of the more entertaining quests in the game, the Triage! The triage requires you to ‘save’ 15 injured warriors/soldiers in a small physician’s room loaded with casualties…….BEFORE 6 of them die. There are 3 types of soldiers, critically injured, badly injured and injured. The critically injured die rather quickly so bandage them first, same goes for the badly injured.

A few more tips on this quest:
- Position yourself in the MIDDLE of the room.
- Adjust your camera until you can see a part of ALL the beds containing the injured. This allows for quick targeting.
- Once you receive your ‘triage bandages’ throw them in a hotbar slot (#1 is easiest). This will let you speedily heal the injured and not have to fumble around in your backpack.

So now that I’ve told you all you need to know to SUCCEED in this quest, you’re probably wondering where the hell you get it! Here’s how you can obtain the triage quest.

Alliance:
First, you’ll need to speak to Nissa Firestone in Ironforge, she’ll then direct you to speak to Doctor VanHowzen in Theramore. Here are thottbot maps for both NPCs.

Doctor VanHowzen: http://www.thottbot.com/index.cgi?n=7383

Horde:
To begin this quest you need to strike up a conversation with Arnok who hangs out in Ogrimmar. He’ll then direct you to speak with Doctor Victor in the Arathi Highlands. Here are maps for both NPCs.

Quick Token For BG Instance

By admin On October 11, 2008 No Comments

So early on Saturday and Sunday I was working hard for exhalted in AV and starting the long road to AB/WSG faction so I signed up for every battle ground then chose the one I wanted.

Of course I immediatley hopped into AV when it opened. Imagine my disappointment when the message "This battleground will close in 5 minutes came up". The 6 or 8 of us in AV quickly ran north to get the SH bunker, hoping more would join. Alas, the game ended and then I got the same reward I would have gotten if we would have lost: 125 faction for paying, 12 (maybe 6) per battleground and a token.

Now I’m on a loosing server so getting rewarded in AV so quickly was a JOY.

So my theory is that blizzard has a minimum of signups before it opens a battleground. Once the # of signups has been reached it offers each person the opportunity to join. The battle ground is committed to opening at this point. So if only 2 for WSG or 4 for AB or 10 for AV (example numbers) show up then Blizzard has to close the BG and gives everyone a thanks for playing.

I know you know this already. So why do you care? Because with a little planning you could get 150 av faction in 7 minutes. Do it 3 times and you got a set of tokens.

Here is a detailed plan of how to get quick AV faction:

1) You need to be on the less populated side of a server (most the times that is horde)
2) You need some accomplices to make this work. For WSG I think you need at least 5 people to start the game, for AB it is 7(?), for AV it might be 20.
3) You need all of you accomplices to join the queue early in the morning.
4) You need to hope the "other side" is lined up chomping at the bit to beat you down in your chose battleground
5) You need 1/2 of your accomplices not to join the BG or to drop out immediately.
6) You need to hang out in the BG for 5 minutes and hope it doesnt get busy.

And there you go!

How to get exhaled with Argent Dawn

By admin On October 10, 2008 No Comments

After spending hours of harvesting reputation to get to Exalted I thought I would share my experiences and what I consider the best way to get to exalted. The first thing I will recommend is never turning in Scourgestones or use Argent Dawn Valor Tokens until you are more than 50% through Revered. The best way to get reputation is at follows:

Neutral through to Friendly (50%)
Kill any undead mob within the WPL and EPL area.

Friendly (50%) through to Honoured (50%)
Kill any elite undead mob in WPL, EPL or in the instances.

Honoured (50%) through to Revered (50%)
Kill undead bosses.

Revered (50%) to Exalted
Turn in Sourgestones, cleanse the cauldron and Healthy Scales.

EXPLANATION OF HOW

Cleansing the Cauldron
To cleanse the cauldron you have to have completed all parts of the ‘Target:’ quests given out by High Priestess MacDonnell in Chillwind Camp.
Using your Vitreous Focuser collect Ectoplasmic Resonators off the corpses of the undead around ‘Gahrron’s Withering Cauldron’. The reason why you cleanse ‘Gahrron’s Cauldron’ over and over again is because it has a higher reputation reward. You will also be collecting scourgestones but please keep these till you are pasted 1/2 through Revered with the Dawn. Once you collect 4x Ectoplasmic Resonators, 4x Runecloth go to Alchemist Arbingto in Chillwind Camp and buy 1x Arcane Quickener. Then go back to the cauldron and use it. Doing this will give the player 25 (27-28 if Human) reputation points with the Argent Dawn. I would collect around 80x Ectoplasmic Resonators at a time and cleanse the cauldron twenty times. This quest can be done over and over again. However the ‘Arcane Quickeners’ cost money, 45 silver. The runecloth is picked up off the corpses of the undead mobs, and you usually have more than you need.

Using only the Cauldron quest to gain reputation from Revered (50%) to Exalted you will need all of the following:

1680x Ectoplasmic Resonators
1680x Runecloth
420x Arcane Quickener (Total cost: 189 gold (PvP Rank 3: 168 gold))

Scourgestones
Most undead mobs in WPL, EPL and the instances drop Scourge Stones of some kind. Collect these stones and put them in your bank. They will stack to 250 so you shouldn’t run out of space. As the reputation gains become harder after you get passed 50% in Revered I would keep them to use then. You will get 25 (27-28 if Human) points of reputation for each turn in of 20x Minion’s Scourgestones, 10x Invader’s Scourgestones, and 1x Corruptor’s Scourgestones. However, the Argent Dawn quests at Revered and Exalted require some tokens (Revered: 10, Exalted: 25) so you will have to spend some for those quests. Once you turn in the stones you might as well use the tokens to gain addition reputation.

Amounts of ScourgeStones needed to get to Exalted from Revered (50%):

Minion’s Scourgestones: 4200*
Invader’s Scourgestones: 2100*
Corruptor’s Scourgestones: 210*

*These figures include spending the Valour Token reward from turning in the stones.

Healthy Dragon Scales
This quest is from picking up Healthy Dragon Scales from within Scholomance off of Plagued Hatchlings and returning them to Betina Bigglezink at Lighthopes Chappel in EPL. Each scale is a quest itself, start the quest and then talk to Betina Bigglezink. You can carry as many of these scales as you can. The drop rate of these scales is low as the prereg quest is Plagued Hatchlings and that isn’t done by many people. Each scale gives the player 50 (55 for Humans) reputation points with the Argent Dawn.

Total number of scales needed from Revered (50%) to Exalted: 210

Since the 1.11 patch there are more options for getting to exalted.

Turning in the repeatable quests for the different collectiable items:

For insignia of the crusade turn-ins:
crypt fiend parts
bone fragments

For insignia of the dawn turn-ins:
savage frond
cores of elements
dark iron scraps

gets you 10 rep with AD each turn-in of 30.

At Revered, turning in 7 each of the insignias of the dawn and crusade
will get you one of the superior armaments of the dawn (I would take the 18 slot bag) You also get 100 ad rep. for first turn in.
So, not only do you get an 18 slot bag, but you get 380 ad rep total with it.

You can repeat this 6 times for each of the unique items, for a total AD rep
of 2280

The epic line takes 45 insignias of each to turn in for an item. If you turn in all 6 of those, you get 5400 AD rep.

So, for 9360 bone/crypt items (and 9360 of the others), you can get 7680 AD rep, a nice bag, and some shardable stuff.
